12 WEEK WELL JOURNAL DETOX TIPS & PROGRESS WEEK 5
This week my body was telling me that it wanted some JUNK! Yes it happened. Taco Bell on Halloween, one night out drinking some cocktails and wine, a late night taco joint, and some Halloween candy followed up by some much needed R & R. I headed to Palm Springs with a friend, got massages, lounged by the pool, read my book, went to the casino, and ordered a couple vanilla lattes with almond milk. BALANCE BABY! Always listen to your body and give it what it needs. And donβt feel guilty for doing itβ¦even if you are on a detox ;)

WEEK 5 FOOD AND DIET
YES: Salads for work lunches, Lattes with almond milk, a little bit of Halloween candy, a couple cheat meals (my body needed a little break from the health kick!), and I went out drinking on Saturday night. I even had Taco Bell and my favorite late night Mexican place Los Tacos! AND the best part is I have NO REGRETS!
NO: To be honest this weekend nothing was really off limits. No alcohol expect for the one night, no carbs during the work week, no extra sweets (even though my work had a huge Halloween Cake right in front of me!)
As I approached the halfway point of this detox I suddenly felt like my body needed a break from eating so clean. I want you to know that this is totally okay and normal! It was Halloween and I allowed myself a handful of cheat meals and a night out drinking, along with some candy, but I made sure to still drink a gallon of water each day and not dwell on the cheat days or feel guilty. I just got right back to it the following day.
This week I felt great! I was super happy with my progress photos and was pleasantly surprised when I did my 5th weigh-in and managed to maintain my weight despite having a handful of cheat days. Take my advice and listen to your body. Donβt deprive yourself from something you want or that your body is craving! Doing so can lead to binges down the road! Just get right back on track and it will all be fine!

WEEK 5 TIPS AND TID BITS
If you need a break from your detox go for it! Just make sure you donβt βfall offβ. As soon as you give your body that break or craving, get right back on track!
As the holidays are approaching treat yourself but focus on moderation and portion control. Sure I wanted to enjoy Halloween but I didnβt go crazy and spend an entire week munching on candy!
Drank my gallon of water every single day no excuses.
Focused on incorporating a salad/lettuce with all my meals. Itβs an easy way to fill up on your vegetables for the day. Remember you should be eating 3-4 cups of veggies a day!
Practiced self-care! Took a little weekend trip to Palm Springs and treated myself to a 90 minute massaged and some much needed time by the pool with my book in hand.
The day after going out drinking I made sure to drink water all day long to flush out the toxins and get myself rehydrated.
Continued to eat vegan based proteins since I was tired of meats. My go-toβs at Trader Joes were the veggie burgers and the meatless meatballs.
Bought only what was on my grocery list, which by the way was extra hard for me knowing all the fall pumpkin items were about to go away for good until next year! But look I survived without all of them. (I did however buy a box of Pumpkin Oβs because they are my absolute favorite cereal and only come to TJβs once a year!)
Said no to any extra breads or tortillas that came as a side with my work lunches. Also said no to cheese on any salads or whatever I ordered and honestly I donβt even taste the difference.
Read every night before bed.
Limited TV Time.
Nightly walks after work until I hit my 10K step goal.
Until Week 6 Fit Friends! We are halfway there!
XoXo,
