5 REASONS TO CREATE A VISION BOARD IN 2019

1. TO SERVE AS A VISUAL REMINDER OF YOUR GOALS, AMBITIONS, VISIONS, AND DREAMS

Making a vision board is important so that you can get a visual reminder every single day of all your goals, ambitions, visions, and dreams which leads me to this. The PLACEMENT of your vision board is just as important as the board itself, if not more! What is the point of making a vision board if you are going to store it away in a closet or under your bed. Your vision board should be strategically placed somewhere you know you will put eyes on it every single day! My vision board is right next to my bedroom door. I walk past it every single morning and am reminded of all those incredible visions!

2. TO STAY INSPIRED, MOTIVATED, AND FOCUSED

I know how easy it is to fall off track. Rainy, cold weather having us feeling unmotivated and just wanting to get comfy and cozy at home in our PJs and in my case with my cats! Having a vision board is like having a kick in the butt everyday pushing us to keep working towards everything on that board. I mean how can you possibly forget about something you see every single day?

3. TO GET CLEAR ON WHAT YOU WANT AND NEED IN YOUR LIFE

Along with my vision board I also check-in with myself once a month and write out all my monthly intentions/manifestations. I am not a fan of blurred lines. I try my hardest to find clarity and if I am not getting clarity I ask the Universe to guide me and help me find it! Because guess what? What we want and need could change and that is totally okay! Maybe you put something on your vision board that you don’t see fit in your life this year or anymore at all, so replace it with something that does! There is no punishment or consequence for not completing every single vision on your vision board it just means something may not have been meant to be or maybe it just wasn’t meant to be that particular year. At the end of 2018 I joked around because let’s face it, I didn’t have the best year but I sat back and every single vision from my vision board last year happened minus meeting Reese Witherspoon. So I posted on my Instagram story and tagged her hoping I would magically get a response in my DM’s from her saying let’s FaceTime so we can meet! HAHA It didn’t end up happening but I know at some point in my life it will. She has served as a great inspiration in my life!

4. TO HAVE TONS OF THINGS TO LOOK FORWARD TO

I am going to let you in on a little secret of mine. My mood, attitude, everything changes in my life when I don’t have a flight booked. I know some of you may be laughing at that but I am being completely serious! If I don’t have a confirmation number for a flight or hotel in my emails I simply feel like I have no travels to look forward to. To me that just shows and tells me how important seeing the world and travel is to me. It helps me reset, it makes me happy, and it is something I clearly look forward to. It motivates me to save money, work harder to earn that time to reset and relax, and it just genuinely makes me happy knowing I am going somewhere new and unknown to me! With a vision board there will always be something on there you have yet to achieve. “Work a red carpet” “Host a new show” “Go on a staycation” WOW I have so many fun, cool things to work for to achieve and I really am looking forward to these things!

5. BECAUSE THEY WORK!!!

As I mentioned before, despite having one of the most challenging years of my entire life at the end of the year I looked at my 2018 vision board and was blown away! I essentially only had 6 months to work for my visions and after that certain things became limited for me due to a personal endeavor. I was in complete shock and laughed when I saw that out of all my visions the only thing I had not accomplished was meeting Reese Witherspoon. The opportunity did not present itself to me that year. Maybe this year she will magically be doing a book signing in my area and that will be my chance! But in all seriousness I can’t tell you how much making a vision board has changed my life in the best, most positive way imaginable!
